Most towns and cities in Myanmar commemorated the 65th Anniversary of Martyrs’ Day by placing floral wreaths at the Martyrs’ Monuments erected in their respective places as well as offering lunch(soon) to the monks according to Myanmar Buddhist traditions.

Gen Aung San and a number of his cabinet members plus 2 others were assassinated on July 19th 1947 at the Secretariat building in Yangon during a cabinet session.

Bogyoke Pya Taik(Bogyoke Museum) in Yangon will also open its door to the public today to view the simple lifestyle of Bogyoke and his family displayed in the museum.

Bogyoke Museum was the house where Bogyoke Aung San and his family lived until his assassination but later converted into a museum by the government.
