Road to Mwetaw Katku pagodas renovated

The Shan State Government will renovate and expend the road to Mwetaw Katku pagodas in Southern Shan State to complete bythe end of April, 2015, learnt from the Pagoda Trustee.

The construction was implemented by Public Works, under the State Ministry of Construction in July, 2014 and will be completed in April, 2015.

“The road will be expended during the financial year 2014-15. The road is so narrow and If the cars are facing each other, it is difficult to drive on. At some places one car has to drive off-road to avoid the car driving from opposite direction. So if we renovate the road widen and travelers will be more convenient,” said by the secretary U Thaung Sein from Mwetaw Katku Trustee.

The road to Mwetaw Katku will be extended 2 feet on both sides at cost about Ks 300 million .

There are 7623 pagodas in Mwetaw village, in Naung Khaing Village track, Kyauk-talone towship, taungyi distict, Southern Shan State.
